Rosebud was built after silver was discovered in Rosebud Canyon in 1906.  The little town soon had graded streets, a hotel and a bank.  Unfortunately for Rosebud, construction was started before sustaining ore bodies had been found.  Rosebud started to fade in 1908 and soon became one of the few towns that was abandoned before construction on several of its buildings was completed.  Rosebud is well secluded.  Wood is available for camping.
